A powerful inspiration for women entrepreneurs, Ms. Sheetal Kapoor created a successful business from ground zero at an age when most women, who have spent two decades of their life being the quintessential housewives are too set in their ways to embrace a fierce new challenge. Mrs. Kapoor broke the norm and created a brand that made a difference to scores of Indian women, who look for quality, style and affordability when shopping, especially for Indian wear.

Before Shree, women looking to buy affordable everyday wear garments with perfect fitting and quality fabric had to get it tailor-made. Mrs. Kapoor identified this very gap in the Indian ethnic wear market for women and created Shree to offer a viable alternative and change this.

Initially, she decided to explore a business opportunity online. Brand Shree started off as an E-commerce brand by selling ethnic wear on ebay in 2009. The brand received great sales traction overseas. Gradually, the brand grew to become a favourite among Indian women and by 2010, it made a significant mark in the Indian market. Under the able guidance of Mrs. Kapoor, the brand grew steadily on all major online and offline marketplaces. The first brick and mortar store was launched in Todapur, New Delhi in 2015 as a major milestone. Since then the brand has made steady, major inroads into the ethnic women’s wear market. Today, Shree is 100 stores strong and growing rapidly within India as well as internationally. It has already launched its first UAE store at the City Centre, Sharjah and is all set to launch the second store at City Centre Deira, Dubai. Shree is also launching its international e-commerce portal shree.ae.
