When theatres were closed, many major films were released on OTT first as originals. Now that the theatre has reopened as Covid-19 cases continue to decline in state, many huge pictures were released on OTT first as originals. Such films will now be released in theatres first, followed by OTT distribution. This eliminates a major marketing strategy used by OTT platforms. Rashmi Agdekar being a consistent OTT actor, Rashmi Agdekar said, “I don’t think that should happen. Watching a series on our personal screens and watching a film in cinemas are different experiences altogether. The pandemic gave us a chance to develop a liking to OTT content, but both hold their own places in entertainment and everyone’s preference will differ. I don’t want OTT platforms and Cinemas to compete with one another but rather coexist and flourish together.”
